James approached us with a very special idea - a limited edition of 33 pens made from solid gold - and with a unique and heretofore unseen pattern - graduated Martelé. Interestingly enough, realising this specific pattern has been a much greater challenge than anticipated - and caused us to form a team of three new specialists - ranging from a parametric architect to a video game character modeller - to perfect the complex and mathematical structure of this specific pattern.

We went through over three dozen iterations of the pattern - until we found the right combination of features, grit, smooth edges, and graduation velocity of the pattern across the grip and rings. More than three months after beginning this project, we are casting the first pen of this kind - and look forward to seeing it come to life.
